Can you move the shade up and down? Looks like the pole can be moved up and down.
BEST ANSWER: No! It cannot be moved up and down. So, I bought a small bulb and it worked out for me! It is a beautiful light fixture!

Would this type of shade be suitable for a powder room? Would there be enough light in the room with only 2 of these fixtures?
BEST ANSWER: I have 4 of these in my master so I can't really say. We also have recessed lighting. But for a powder room I'd think they'd be sufficient.

is there a switch on the lamp itself?
BEST ANSWER: No the fixture does not have a hand switch. a hand switch can be added to any wall fixture. Most hardware/electrical supplyers sell them. I added them to other sconces in my previous home.
