Is the material solid brass?
BEST ANSWER: I believe it is, it's very solid. The brass itself is beautiful, It's a very high quality fixture, really stunning. We changed out the lampshades for some custom porcupine quill ones and it makes the whole thing seem totally custom.(Though the original shades are totally fine) In a total house redo, this fixture is one of my favorites.

How are shades attached ?
BEST ANSWER: The shades clip over the light bulb. Very easy to do.

Can you provide clarification on shade dimensions? Shade Height, Width, and Diameter is listed, but the shade is tapered, so I would like to know the top and bottom diameter of the shade. Thank you.
