I assumed they can be removed for cleaning, can the chandelier be used without them?

8. Install proper bulbs (not provided) to the sockets referring to the marking and/or labels on the fixture
for maximum wattage.

Is the height 21.37 with or without the rods. Also, will this work on a sloped ceiling?
