Is the material metal or plastic?
How is the access to the bulbs made? Is it open or “exposed”, or Is there glass on the bottom?
BEST ANSWER: There is glass on the bottom. Two small screw finials release the 5 glass piece cover.

Does this light function as a motion sensor?
BEST ANSWER: No, it does not have any motion sensing capabilities. It is either on or off. We have an additional motion detecting light. This light is used mainly to highlight your front door and offer a clearer line of sight at night.

Is this Dimmable?
BEST ANSWER: It would depend on the light bulbs you use. Some bulbs can't be dimmed, they flicker. The fixture itself doesn't determine dimmability. That said, I have mine on dimmers. I just didn't use the bulbs pictured. I used chandelier bulbs 60 watt. Looks great.

Would you say Earth black is the same as regular black?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, absolutely. I have a porch light in black by Hinkley and they match perfect. It's a nice light--low profile, beveled glass, simple.
